Aleyamma John

Aleyamma Thomas John was born to Thomas Varghese and Chinnamma, Kaithathara Family, in Kottayam, Kerala, India on July 9, 1932. She has an older brother, Thomas Varghese, and two younger brothers, Chandy Thomas and the late Cherian K. Thomas. At the age of 4, her father passed away. She was raised by her grandparents, uncles and her father's sister, Kaithathara Achamma. She attended the CSI Church in Kottayam and Ernakulam until her migration to the United States. She faithfully studied and memorized many scriptures and was a gifted singer during her younger years. She was married to the late Thoppil Thommy John on May 5, 1952. They were blessed with 6 children, 12 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. After their marriage, they lived in Ernakulam, Kerala, India. She immigrated to the United States in 1989 to live with her children. She was baptized on March 18, 1990 at Maranatha Full Gospel Church. She was a member of Harvest Church of God till her passing. On September 7, 2014, while going to church, she was promoted to glory. We will remember our Ammachi for her kind and gentle spirit. She was hospitable to everyone she met. She was humble, caring and loving. She was known for her warm smile no matter what situation she was going through. During her final years she spent most of her time with her family and in prayer. During her final days, she spoke often about her great desire to be with her Savior. She was deeply loved by many, and she will be greatly missed.
