Barbara Lynn Rust

Barbara Lynn Rust, 73, of Mesquite, Texas, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2014 in the family home she raised her children since 1962. Born August 16, 1940 in Dallas, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Bing and Louise Houston. She is survived by her husband of 54 years and the love of her life, Robert Rust; four children Michael (son) with wife Cynthia, Jan (daughter), James (son) and Gail (daughter) with husband Chris; a sister, Helen Landon with husband Joe; six grandchildren, Michael Junior, Josh, Matt, Bobbie, Toni and Anthony; seven great-grandchildren, Lexie, Keyton, Zachary, Ava, Max, Adrian and K’la; nephew Steve and niece Melissa. Barbara was a loving mother and wife who loved to spend her time reading books, crossword puzzles, crocheting and visiting her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Viewing will be conducted at 10:30am – 12:00pm and memorial services will be conducted at 1:00pm Friday, July 18, 2014 at New Hope Funeral Home with Rev. Clark Wheeler officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 pm Friday at Rosemound Cemetery in Commerce, TX. The family will receive friends on Friday, from 5:00pm -7:30pm at the family home.
