Calvin George Lloyd of Forney, born August 6, 1936 in Burlington, Vermont.He passed away March 23, 2015. Preceded in death by parents, Earl Albert Lloyd & Mae Eugenia Sheldon Whittemore of Weatford, Vermont. andbrothers, Carroll Lloyd, and Blake Lloyd. Survived by wife of 56 years, Rose Mary Lloyd; children, David Lloyd, Darrell Lloyd, George Lloyd & wife, Carolyn Lloyd; grandchildren, Stephanie Lloyd, Spencer Lloyd and Rachel Lloyd; sisters, Shirley Lloyd of Westford, Vermont, Beverly Wankerof Troy, New York, and foster sisterJulie Nunnink & husband, Walt Nunnink. Calvin graduated from Bellous Free Academy of Fairfax, Vermont. In 1954 he joined the U.S. Air Force.He spent 26 years of active duty, retiring in 1980.He attended Troy State University and graduated with an accountant degree.He then worked for the U.S.government as a civil servant for 20 years.He served his country for 46 years. In 1958 he married Rose Mary Wanker of Anguilla, Ms. They traveled all over the country.He served in Turkey and Thailand and worked in the Pentagon for Secretery of Defense Laird.They had three sons; George Marcus, David Michael, and Darrell Shaun Lloyd; three grandchildren by George and Carolyn, Stephanie, Spencer and Rachel. Calvin retired in 2003 and enjoyed life by square dancing, woodworking and restoring old furniture.He had a love of music and played the harmonica.He was a very active servant of God in his church, always doing what he could to build things for the church. Service will be 10:00AM Monday March 30, 2015 at Talty Baptist Church, 5210 N. 148, Crandall, TX. 75114. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon from 1:00PM - 3:00PM. Interment will be 1:15 PM Monday, March 30 at DFW National Cemetery, Dallas, TX.
