Charles Wayne Hansard, born April 2, 1950 in Dallas, Texas entered into eternal rest October 17, 2017 in Mesquite, Texas. Charles was born to JW Hansard and Dorothy Vina Jean Watwood.He was a very quiet and reserved child and adult.Charles served as an Officer for Dallas County Hospital District Police from 1972-1981, then again from 1983-2015 as a Communications Officer/Dispatcher.His family of fellow officers at Parkland were like a family to him and he was very loved by them. He retired in 2015 with over 40 years of service with Parkland. Charles spent a lot of his time watching TV, drinking iced tea, eating good food and going to the movies.He was an avid Trekkie, loved Sci Fi and CSI/Police shows and he loved to watch Game of Thrones with his son.There was no one who could ever stump him when it came to TV shows and movies, he saw them all.His children called him Superman and Ironman; he was a hero to them and his Grandchildren. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for those he loved.He was compassionate, loving and everyone will attest, the kindest man.He loved his family and friends dearly and we knew that everyone who came in contact with him loved him too. Charles was preceded in death by his parents JW and Jackie and siblings, Vina Jo Pullen and Patricia Kay Hansard.He is survived by the mother of his children, Carol Ann Hansard, his sister Beverly Gay Allman and her husband Ronnie, sister Jerene Thompson and his brother Jay Hansard as well as his children, daughter Pamela Ann Williams and her husband Tony, daughter Carla Renee Hansard and her boyfriend Chris and his son Charles Christian Hansard.Charles is also survived by his Grandchildren Asa Wayne Womack and his wife Kelsey and Michaela Reanne Hansard-Todd and her husband Cody as well as his Great Grandchildren Linsey Womack, Lilliah Womack and Camber Wayne Todd along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service has been scheduled for 2pm on Friday, October 20, 2017at New Hope Funeral Home, 500 US Hwy 80 East, Sunnyvale, Texas, 75182.Friends and family are welcome.
