Ernest Guyton, 82 Ernest Guy Guyton, 82, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 with his wife by his side.Ernie was born September 22, 1935 to Isham Guyton and Ella Smith in Sulligent, Alabama, the third of nine children. Ernie served in the Army for a short period then served in the Air Force from 1956 to 1964 as staff sergeant.During this time, he met his beautiful bride, Betty J Bowman and they married, February 19, 1960, in Dallas, Tx.They celebrated 58 years of marriage. Ernie had a 30 year long career at Balfour, managing the printing department until his retirement in 1995.He was a man of Faith, who loved his heavenly father as well as his family and country.Ernie served as a deacon at a local church in Athens, Tx and always had a word of encouragement.He was an avid fan of sports who loved watching the Mavericks, Cowboys and Texas Rangers.Many of his retirement days were spent watching his grandchildren play sports or theater arts.He also loved to work in his garden and visit with friends and family on the front porch. Ernie is survived by his wife, Betty; son, Jeff Guyton; daughters and son-in-laws, Teresa and Monty Skinner, Kimberley and Darrell Jackson.Grandchildren: Chasity and Dustin Swehla, Christan and Daniel Smith, Casie Hill, Brandon and Sara Buffington, Sheldon Jackson, and fianc Bri Pinnel, Haley and Josh Stracener, Justin Jackson, Lorin Skinner, Trent Hall and twelve great-grandchildren. Brothers; W.C., and Nell Guyton, Frankie and Annie Guyton, Robert and Gail Guyton, Sisters; Mary and Frank Arthur and Helen Vann and numerous nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his mother and father, sisters; Geraldine Green and Martha Browning, and brother Warren Guyton, all of Alabama. Funeral services will be held Thursday February 22, 2018 at New Hope Funeral Home 2:00 pm with Reverend Charlie Wilson officiating.Burial will follow Monday, February 26th, 9:30 am the DFW National Cemetery.The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at New Hope Funeral in Sunnyvale, Tx.Memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
