Ethel Mae Peeples-Vera

January 23, 1921 — June 11, 2015

Ethel Mae Peeples-Vera of Mesquite, TX went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 11, 2015. Mae was born in Emory, Texas on January 23, 1921.She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 35 years, William Dawson Peeples, Jr. in 1973 and her husband of 27 years, Raymond J. Vera in 2006.She was also preceded in death by her mother, Ethel E. Alexander, her father George Basil Alexander, her brothers, Reuben Alexander, GB Alexander and Lee Alexander, her sisters Marie Alexander Perkins, Vernell Alexander Nelson and Pauline Alexander Pennington. Mae is survived by her five children, Gail (James) McCurry, Jerry (Eva) Peeples, Gary (Jackie) Peeples, Judy (Wayne) Reed and William (Linda) Peeples.She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and a sister-in-law, Bennie Alexander of Emory Texas, as well as many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at the Villages of Lake Highlands, especially Sharon Dye and Tracy Bradford, for the loving care given our Mother in the last few years of her life. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, June 15, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, TX and funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the New Hope Chapel.Private interment will follow at City Cemetery in Emory, TX.
