Harry Ray Shipley September 4, 1944 - July 5, 2017 Harry Ray Shipley, third son of Austin W. and Georgia Munden Shipley, was born on September 4, 1944, and passed away after a valiant battle with cancer on July 5, 2017. Harry is survived by his son, David Shipley, and his daughter, Robbin Shipley-Smart and her husband Terry Smart.He will also be greatly missed by his three grandchildren, Raina Schleifer, Ocean Johnson, and River Smart.Harry is also survived by his sister Judy Francis and his brothers Buddy, James, Jerry and Mike Shipley. He also survived by several nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives.Harry was preceded in death by his brothers Bobby and Pat Shipley and by his parents. Harry was a life-long Forney resident and a graduate of Forney High School.Harry served his country as a paratrooper in the U. S. Army.He worked for Safeway Corporation for many years, and also spent a number of years working for Kaufman County. Harry was a loved member of a large family and an even larger extended family who will miss him greatly, until they are reunited in Heaven. Services will be held on Saturday morning, July 8, 2017, at 10 AM at New Hope Funeral Home, preceded by a visitation from 8:30 until 10 AM.Burial will be at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Forney, Texas.
