Iva Lorene Sims

Iva Lorene Sims of Sunnyvale went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the age of 94. She was bornMarch 25, 1918 in Linton, Indiana and spent most of her life in Indiana and the Chicago area before moving to Texas in 2003. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, William Harrison Sims, her parents Enzie Francis Gwin and Mamie Dell Wilson Gwin, brothers Kenneth Earl Gwin and Marion Lewis Gwin, and sisters Alta Marie Bratcher and Velma Vanice Gwin. She is survived by daughters Becky (and Paul) Bochniak and Teena Sims; granddaughters Lauren (and Jonathan)Looney and Sarah Bochniak; grandson Jason (and Lexie) Reszka; great grandchildren Emery and Anah Reszka;foster son Norman Bell; and extended family and friends. Lorene loved music and enjoyed singing and playing the organ, piano and accordion.She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her faith and hope rested in her relationship with Jesus Christ.She was a member of the Highland Village Church of Christ in Bloomimgton, Indiana and the Highland Oaks Church of Christ in Dallas, Tx. Graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Linton, Indiana at 11:00 on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
