Marjorie Marie Kinsala Watson (Margie) was born on May 22, 1923 and passed peacefully in her home on December 28, 2017.She was born to William Quincy Kinsala and Nan Mullins Kinsala Drake and resided in Ferris Texas until moving to Mesquite in 1932.She was a graduate of Mesquite High School.She was married to Lee Dean Watson on September 17, 1942 for 33 years.She worked for the First National Bank of Mesquite for many years and later retired from a second career as Executive Assistant to the Dean in the Learning Resources Center at Eastfield College. Margie was preceded in death by her father and mother, son Dean Russell Watson, and infant sister Mildred Ruth Kinsala.She is survived by sons Todd Watson of Toledo, OH, Brad Watson and wife Mary of Garland, TX. and Daughter Gail Watson of McKinney, TX as well as her sister Patricia McFarlin and husband Emmitt from Van, TX. She was a loving grandmother to Loren Watson, Meredith Watson Little and husband Austin, Emily Watson, Matthew Hebert and wife Heather, Nicole Hebert, Travis Watson and Michelle Watson Andrews and husband Daniel.Great Grandchildren include Mason Saucier, Jacob, McKenna, and Alexah McGovern, Sydney Hebert and Mallory Andrews.Margie had 12 nieces and nephews with over 70 extended family members. Through her life, church, family and home were her priorities. She was a wonderful seamstress and made many beautiful clothes and home decor projects. She loved making doll clothes and made outfits for many little baby dolls throughout the years. Her cross-stitch projects were her treasures and loved making book marks and sachets as well as wedding mementos and other pieces of work that currently adorn the walls in her home. Margie was an avid Texas Rangers fan and faithfully watched almost every baseball game on tv and followed political news daily.Even while being moved onto the gurney for transport in the ambulance to come home from the hospital, she quipped how she wish she could have been the mayor of Mesquite so she could fix the roads around where she lived.Until her frequent hospital visits started recently, she did the New York Times Cross-word puzzle daily, which kept her mind very sharp. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening 6:00-8:00, January 2, 2018 at New Hope Funeral Home, 500 East Hwy 80, Sunnyvale, TX with a Graveside Service at the Mesquite City Cemetery at 10am Wednesday, January 3, 2018, followed by a memorial service and a celebration of her life at The First Presbyterian Church of Mesquite, 1028 South Belt Line Road at 11am.After the service, a lunch reception will be held at the church in the Wilbanks Fellowship Hall. Margie has requested that donations be made in lieu of flowers to The First Presbyterian Church of Mesquite.
