Melanee Charlene Rushing

Melanee "Charlene" Rushing 65 of Rowlett, TX went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 5, 2016. Charlene was born to the late Lorene Keener and Melvin Bowdoin on January 20, 1951 in Wetumpka, Alabama.She married Gerald Rushing in 1970 at the age of 19.Charlene was a dedicated wife and mother and a fantastic cook.She was extremely talented and loved baking, sewing and many other crafts. She was preceded in death by brothers, Audrey Bowdoin, Harmon Bowdoin, and Marvin Bowdoin. Charlene is survived by her husband of 46 years Gerald Rushing; her 2 children Amy Schultz of Forney, TX and Christian Rushing of Rowlett, TX.She is also survived by 2 grandchildren Donnie Owens V and Jazmyn "Baylee" Gachot as well as one great grandchild Daylen Owens, and sister, Shirley Burridge. INLIEU OF FLOWERS the family requests that donations be made to 1) Lung Cancer Research Foundation 2) Pulmonary Hypertension Association A viewing will be held on Monday, December 12th 6:00pm - 8:00pm at New Hope Funeral Home, Sunnyvale, Texas.Services will be Tuesday, December 13th 11:00am at Meadow View Church of Christ, Mesquite, Texas.Followed by burial at the DFW National Cemetery at 1:00pm.
