Nosakhare Matt Edokpayi

June 16, 1952 — February 18, 2014

Nosakhare Matthias Edokpayi was born on June 16, 1952 in Benin City, Nigeria. He was born to Idahosa and Aiwe Edokpayi. He attended University of Ife and graduated with a BSC in Botany. On April 1st of 1978, he married Florence Agboire. In the fall of that same year, he chose to continue his studies at University of Dallas in Irving. His first son, Idahosa, was born in 1979 in Benin City. Once established in Texas, Nosa and Florence were blessed with three more children –Nosa, Idia, and Ehigie. Although he wasn’t born in Texas, he grew to love cowboy boots, hats, and trucks. Following the Thanksgiving of 2012, Nosa decided “to find God” and began to faithfully attend Parkside Baptist Church. In March of 2013, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. Nosa was excited about his salvation and will be remembered as a dedicated Christian who wanted everyone including his loved ones to know Christ. On Tuesday February 18, 2014, Nosa went home to be with the Lord. He is survived by his wife Florence Edokpayi; his children Idahosa, Nosa, Idia, and Ehigie; and his siblings Margaret, Sonny, Christian, Iriogbonse, Kehinde, and Ebiuwa. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to New Hope Funeral Home to assist in funeral expenses.
