Philip Robert Sapundjieff Jr. passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 23, 2014. He was preceded in death by his mother Genevieve Earlene Amburn, father Philip Robert Sapundjieff Sr., step-mother Kathleen Jewel Sapundjieff, and brother Stephen Peter Sapundjieff. He is survived by his wife Charlet Rivers Sapundjieff and their children Philip Robert Sapundjieff III and wife Amanda Ward Sapundjieff, Drew Alden Sapundjieff, and Katelyn Blair Sapundjieff of Mesquite, Texas. He is also survived by his sisters Melanie Koraska and husband Keith Koraska of Euless and Susan Richardson and husband Kent Mouser of Grand Prairie.Philip was born in Dallas, Texas on May 21, 1958 and graduated from W.W. Samuell High School in 1976. He attended East Texas State University and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order Fraternity. He married his high school sweetheart Charlet Rivers of Dallas on June 13, 1981.They resided in Dallas, Arlington, and Mesquite Texas and were married 32 years. He was a dedicated employee of TYCO Fire and Safety, formerly ADT, for the past 17 years. Philip loved sports and enjoyed many volunteer little league coaching opportunities over the years. He was a member of the John Horn High School Booster club. He read the sports pages daily and was a fan of the fantasy football league.He was kind and generous of both his resources and time. His greatest joy in life were his children who he loved above all else and they were the topic of all his conversations. He was proud of his sons who are both Kappa Alpha Order Alumni, and his daughter who is almost finished with the Navarro College Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Philip was very outgoing and every stranger was a friend he had not yet made. If he ever met a person he never forgot them or their name. He loved to share stories with others and make people laugh. He was a husband, father, brother and friend who will be greatly missed by all. A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 5, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale Texas. The family will receive guests following the service (details will be provided at the service).
