Ruthie Kay Rolison Melton born to J.D. and Lena Mae Rolison in Jacksonville, Texas on April 19, 1953, went home peacefully on Thursday July 27th.She fought a courageous 14-year battle with breast cancer. Ruthie is preceded in death by her parents J.D. and Lena Mae Rolison, her brothers Bobby Rolison, James Lee Ellis, and Bennie Rolison, her sister Letha Nell “Sissie” Galvez, and twin great granddaughters Monica and Lauren Gonzalez. She grew up in Dallas and graduated from Spruce High School in 1971.She worked in the medical field at several doctors’ offices over the years including Doctors Lloyd Conyers, Janardhan Konda, Mark Bernstein, Robert Milstein, and Camille Clark.She lived in Mesquite for the past 30 years.She loved spending time with her husband running errands, listening to the birds on her back porch, and loving on her grandchildren. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 26 years, Bobby Melton, her son Billy Edmonds and his wife Jennifer, her son Jay Edmonds and his wife Jennifer, her step-daughter Rhonda Melton and John Eckley, grandchildren Brittnie Gonzales, Tony Gonzales, Jacob Edmonds, Victoria Gonzales, Hannah Edmonds, Julie Edmonds, Seth Edmonds, Joanna Edmonds, and Jodie Edmonds, great grandchild Leighton Divitis, brother Darrell Rolison, sister Maggie Morris, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family requests that if you are able to attend the services that you please wear bright colors (especially her favorite color yellow) to honor and celebrate her life. Ruthie requested in lieu of flowers a donation be made to The Genesis Center, a faith-based shelter for women and children located at 2675 N. State Highway 34, Kaufman, Texas75142 – (972) 932-4351. Psalm 121 1 I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? 2 My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. 3 He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. 4 Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The Lord is your keeper; The Lord is your shade at your right hand. 6 The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night. 7 The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. 8 The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore.
