Steven Barry Dodson

Steven Barry Dodson of Denton, TX, born March 17, 1962 in Dallas, TX to William and Sharon Dodson went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 5, 2014 due to an aneurysm while hospitalized and surrounded by family. Steve was the older of two children. He grew up in Mesquite, TX and attended Mesquite High School, Class of 1980. He was active in speech, theatre and choir at MHS. Steven was married twice in his lifetime and had two children, Brandon Dodson of Frisco and Megan Dodson of Dallas. Steven was also grandfather to Alyssia Dodson of Frisco. Steven was preceded in death by William Dodson, Woodrow Thomas Schellenberg, Alexander and Elizabeth Law and Timothy Dodson. Steven received his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from University of North Texas and worked with the school’s theatre program. Steven’s passions were theatre, sports and his three dogs Precious, George and Destiny. He enjoyed books, book collecting and sports memorabilia. Steve had a wonderful sense of humor and upbeat personality that could make anyone smile. Steve was loved by many and will be missed by all including his partner Tina Fish. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 3:00 pm at New Hope Funeral Home of Sunnyvale, TX.
