Aubrey Newton Wheat

Aubrey Newton Wheat was born June 8, 1921 in Ravenna, Texas and the Lord took him home on October 3, 2019. Aubrey touched everyone’s life that he met.He worked with his family share cropping until seventeen years of age. He was recruited into the Civilian Conservation Corp in Milam, Texas where he spent two years.He made $30 a month and sent $25 of it home to his momma and daddy. He was drafted into the Army at the age of twenty-one and served in World War II.He spent one year in the states and more than two years overseas in Europe where he was Staff Sargent. After returning home, Aubrey discovered it had been a rough year for his family. He paid off the farms debt with the money he brought home from the Army. He was District Supervisor for over thirty-two years with the City of Dallas. He received the City’s Hall of Fame Award and is a lifetime member of the Masons. Aubrey met the love of his life, his true soulmate, Allie Lee Sadler in early 1946.They were rarely apart once they met and talked about marriage.Allie was getting cold feet, so Aubrey hurried up and got the marriage license, drove her to the judge and they were married December 7th.Phyllis was first to bless their lives and loved going to the fair nearly every night.Terry was their next blessing and was always outdoors along with raising every animal he could bring home.The Wheat family continued to grow with four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Aubrey and Allie truly loved traveling with family and church friends. He bought a few travel trailers and they stayed gone more than home.Aubrey also loved hunting and fishing.Later in life they moved to Scurry, Texas where he enjoyed helping haul hay, tending to the cows and goats. He was proud to talk about his 98th Birthday Party at Richland Chambers where for the first time ever he caught two bass at a time, three times in a row! Aubrey was preceded in death by his wife Allie, of sixty-eight years. His Father and Mother, Mamie and Floyd Wheat; his Sisters, Willa Dean Wheat, Mary Roberts and her husband Leroy; his brother Leonard Wheat and his wife Jean; along with Allie’s Sister Callie Burke and her husband Frankie and their son Wayland. Aubrey is survived by his Daughter, Phyllis Waller and her husband SL; son Terry Wheat and his wife Pam; Grandchildren Greg and his wife Tonia Waller, Lori and her husband JP Kearney, Susan and her husband Tommy White, Wesley and his wife Misti Wheat; Great Grandchildren Ella, Jack, Olivia, Rachel, David, Carter, Dylan and Dhomaneq; Nieces Linda Diers and her husband Ken, Geneva Sipes and her husband Elmer, Marilyn Armstrong; Nephew Steve Roberts and his wife Tammy; along with many other nieces, nephews, cousinsand friends.
