Barbara Read

Barbara L. (Pollock) Read, age 81, of Forney, TX, passed away at home on April 25, 2020. She was born in Corsicana, TX on September 5, 1938, to Robert Paul Pollock and Elizabeth “Ann” (Wallin) Pollock. Barbara lived most of her life in Dallas, TX. She moved to Forney, TX in 1990. After retirement from Southwestern Bell in 1998, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and traveling to their many sports and academic activities. She was known as “Barb” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Barbara was a member of Fellowship Forney in Forney, TX. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Ann and Robert Pollock; spouse, Cecil Earl Read; daughter, Cherilynn Jo Read; brothers Robert Shirley Pollock and Joe Bernice Pollock; and beloved sister, Linda Pollock Sellers. She is survived by her children, Robin (husband Charles) Owens of Forney, TX and Dana (husband Ken) Eppler of Sachse, TX; grandchildren, Wesley (wife Rachel) Owens of Richardson, TX, Landon Owens of Addison, TX, Kathryn Eppler of Allen, TX and Drew Eppler (wife Jessica) of Forney, TX; three great-granddaughters and three step great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Melvin Sellers; nieces, nephews, and other family members and numerous friends. Barbara had several life-long friends that will miss their daily chats. She is also survived by her special four-legged canine companion, Sugar Ray. Due to current circumstances, there will not be a traditional visitation/service. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be determined.
