Evelyn Louise Everett

August 3, 1931 — November 29, 2017

Evelyn Louise Everett , also known as “Grannie” & “Gigi”, was born August 3, 1931 in Georgetown, Texas and passed from this life November 29, 2017, at the age of 86 yrs. She was the daughter of Cecil & Inez Lee. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, brother Bill Lee, son-in-law Charlie Palmer, and great-grandson Jett Dyer Lowe. She is survived by her husband of 65 yrs, “Cotton” Everett, daughter Paula Palmer, sons & daughters-in-law Greg & Ramona Everett, Brian & Diane Everett, and Alan & Diann Everett. She is also survived by grandchildren Amy & Scott Ferguson, Jill & Jason Daniel, Matthew Everett, Daniel & Brittney Everett, Emily Everett, Aimee Pratt, Jamie Prather, Stefani Everett, Tiffany Everett, Erinn & Justin Lowe, Travis Everett, Alexis & Mitchell Graham, great-grandchildren Cameron & Brendon Ferguson, Luke, Madelyn, Ryan & MaKenzie Everett, Jaci, Jenna, Jolie & Jackson Daniel, and Wesley Graham w/another Graham baby boy on the way. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Billie Lee, and numerous nieces & nephews. Evelyn was a Christian and her constant desire was that her life be a reflection of Jesus Christ. She was an exemplary & devoted wife to her husband, “Cotton”, of 65 yrs. She was a kind, compassionate, and doting mother to her children and grandchildren. Evelyn possessed a unique personality that allowed her to “never meet a stranger”. She loved to entertain and she & Cotton frequently had family & friends in their home for food, fun, and good times. She was a “people person”, an encourager, and the “life of the party”. She loved to laugh & joke with people. Evelyn worked for more than 30 yrs as secretary for the Mesquite Church of Christ. During the last few months of her life, after her illness was diagnosed, she demonstrated the love of Jesus to all the medical staff at the doctor’s office and the hospital, never complaining about all she was expected to endure. She passed from this earthly life with the help of her Lord, with tremendous grace & dignity, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Thanks be to God for this wonderful Christian lady.
