Glenda Alvin Carter Deatherage, age 99, was born on April 20, 1920 in Alexander, Texas to Carl Dewey and Martha Alvin Coldiron Carter.She went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 26, 2019. On September 10, 1939, she married Olaf Bluford “Boots” Deatherage in Hugo, Oklahoma. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked as a switch board operator, a church secretary, a waitress, and a clerk at A.L. Davis and Austin’s Grocery Store. Left to continue her legacy are sons: Gary Deatherage and wife Ann, Jack Deatherage and wife Yolanda, Lavon Deatherage and wife Marilynn; grandchildren: Jason Deatherage and wife Colleen, Melissa Ortiz and husband Gabriel, David Deatherage, Michelle Jones and husband Morty, Michelle Bufford and husband Jeff, Danny Butler and wife Kim; great grandchildren: Leif Deatherage, Gavin and Mason Ortiz, Aaron Bufford and wife Hannah, Jessica Ivey, Daniel Butler and wife Charlotte; great great grandaugthers: Adaline and Ava Butler; sisters: Wynona Martin and husband Clarence, Zada Milholen, and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends. Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister, Carol Dean Huggins. She was helpful and kind to everyone.She spent many years sitting in her easy chair,being home bound, making beautiful crocheted gifts, loving, advising, and praying for her family and friends.She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
