James "Jay" Richard Williams

August 2, 1983 — September 14, 2018

On September 14, 2018, our beloved son and brother, James “Jay” Richard Williams, Jr., went home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, after a courageous fight with cancer. Jay Williams was born on August 2, 1983, in Dallas, Texas.He grew up in Mesquite, Texas, and graduated from Dr. Ralph H. Poteet High School in 2002.After high school, Jay attended Coventry Reserve where he joined other special needs adults to learn new skills and make life-long friends. Later, as an independent young man, Jay moved to Jubilee House and more recently Wentworth House, where he made more friends and focused his efforts on helping others with special needs and challenges.Jay never recognized limitations and had an astounding memory for people, names, sports stats, etc.He had a childlike faith and enthusiasm.He enjoyed riding roller coasters, going to Disney World, watching WWE Wrestling, and collecting Hot Wheels.Besides being one himself, he loved the Superheroes, especially Superman, one in particular, Daniel Sanchez, and Batman, also known as Rodney Wheeler.Jay was a devoted fan of his favorite sports teams, the Dallas Mavericks, Texas Rangers, Dallas Stars and the Dallas Cowboys.He lived with a zeal for life that we all strive for and brought joy everywhere he went.Jay loved everyone he met and never met a stranger. Jay leaves behind a devoted mother and step-father, Diana and Steve Jensen of Forney, a father and step-mother, James and Christine Williams of Plano, a sister, Randi Williams Denson and special niece and nephew Peyton and Kristian of Forney, a brother, Joel Schane Williams of Austin, a half-sister and brother, Jennifer Williams Leonard of Mabank and Jeffrey Williams of Red Oak, a grandmother, Geneva Heard of Pittsburg, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends to celebrate his life.
