John Enriquez

August 3, 1944 — February 26, 2020

John Enriquez was born August 3, 1944 in Dallas TX, to Rebecca and Juan Enriquez and died peacefully February 26, 2020 surrounded by friends and family. John was devoted to his family. His generous giving spirit will be remembered by everyone. At some point, everyone he met has been a recipient of his generosity in one way or another. He was always up for an adventure. Many included road trips where he used restaurants as landmarks along the way. He enjoyed a long career with El Chico followed by several other great positions in the restaurant industry. After a brief eight-month retirement, he settled in with a new work family he loved dearly at Texas Healthcare. While working there he thoroughly enjoyed winning 1st place in the ugly Christmas sweater contest each year. John is preceded in death by his parents, sister Becky, and son Michael. Survivors include his ex-wife Yvonne who he forgot he was divorced from, his daughter Andrea Hefner and son in law William Hefner, daughter Stephanie Enriquez, granddaughter Alexandra Britt and her husband Colman Britt, grandsons Steven Enriquez, Christopher Sanchez, and Riley Hefner. Brother Bob Enriquez and sister in law Deanna Enriquez, brother Andy Enriquez, and many beloved nieces and nephews. The celebration of John's life will be 10:00am Saturday March 7th at Town East Baptist Church, 3117 N Town East Blvd Mesquite TX, followed by a procession to the grave site at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, TX. In memory of his generosity, donations to missionaries he sponsored in Africa can be made in John's name.
