Marion Michael McDonald was born on January 2, 1953 and passed away on June 8, 2019. He is preceded in death by his grandparents: J.C. and Nettie Williams; grandmother, Nannie Riter, and sister-in-law, Juli McDonald. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Phylis McDonald, children: Christina McDonald Davis and husband Chuck Davis; grandchildren: Mason Ann Davis, Coy Michael Davis; parents: Walter and Carry Riter; brother, Sam McDonald; sisters: Kaylene Salas, Nita Caraveo, Nan Riter-Jones; sister-in-law, Carol Maddox, brother-in-law, Frank Maddox, sister-in-law, Barbara White, brother-in-law, Tony White,brother-in-law, Pete Jones, sister-in-law, Gina Wilson, brother-in-law, Carl Wilson, brother-in-law, Tommy Taylor, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mike “Jackie” McDonald moved to Forney, Tx in 1962 at the age of 9 and was immediately at home, signing up for Little League Baseball on his 2nd day in town.Participating in many family, church and community activities gave him great joy in his childhood.In high school, he was a proud Forney Jackrabbit, continuing his avid participation in sports and other high school activities, and building many life-long relationships.He graduated from Forney High in 1971 and started a career in the transportation industry with C & H Transportation, where he made many friends, was highly regarded, and met his soul-mate Phylis, along with Christina, their daughter.Mike and Phylis shared an amazing bond, marrying in 1978 and being inseparable for the past 41 years, while enjoying family and friends at every turn.Mike loved to watch and support Christina in all of her activities, and when his grandchildren came along, he continued that love and support.He loved to talk about his grandchildren and was happiest when watching them pursue their endeavors.Large extended-family gatherings were important to “Jackie”, being initiated by him on many occasions.His Mother, Dad, Brother, and Sisters were a very important part of his life, and they cherish priceless memories with him.He was a loving son and brother, speaking with his Mother daily for many years and always being eager to help his siblings.His many nieces and nephews remember him as a kind, gentle man and will miss his presence greatly.Mike “Jackie” McDonald was highly revered by all and will be missed by many.May his kindness, gentleness, and dedication to others continue in those who were blessed to know him.
