Pamela D. Bethel

March 22, 1960 — April 4, 2019

Pamela Denise Bethel was born March 22, 1960 and passed away surrounded by her loving family on April 4, 2019. Pamela was preceded in death by her parents Warren Dale Vanderburg and Joyce Vanderburg, Grandparents; Cliff Vanderburg and Mary Vanderburg, Jewell Johnson, and Odis Slagle. Pam is survived by her Husband of 36 years Benjamin P. Bethel, Children; Jordan Bethel and spouse Jessica, Haley Bethel and spouse Joel Janke, Kaitlyn Strahan and spouse Collin, Brothers; Brad Vanderburg and spouse Lisa, Scott Vanderburg, Sister; Kay Vanderburg Stephenson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Pam valued hard work and never took shortcuts. She completed her Bachelor's in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas and went on to have a successful career in sales and marketing that spanned 35 years. She was recognized several times over the course of her career for her outstanding performance, including the title of top sales representative in the US. Pam's radiant personality shone through in every aspect of her life. Her smile lit up whatever room she walked into and she never met a stranger. She had a wide circle of friends and valued each of her relationships dearly. Above all, there was nothing more important to Pam than being a good mother and wife. She placed nothing before her family and truly had a gift for motherhood. She was the rock of her home and her happiest times were those spent with her children and husband, whether it was vacations, holidays, or Sundays talking around the dinner table. Pam was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of Neuroendocrine Cancer last May. Over the course of ten months, she fought courageously and her spirit never wavered. Her family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Scott Paulson, Dr. Elizabeth Carroll, and the medical staff at Baylor Hospital for their dedication to Pam's treatment. No one saw this illness coming and there is a dire need to bring more awareness and research to this cancer. If you would like to make a donation to the Neuroendocrine Cancer research fund in Pam's name, please visit https://netrf.org. Pam's viewing will be from 5 PM to 7 PM on Monday, April 8 at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, TX. Her funeral service will be conducted by Reverend Rocky Pope on Tuesday, April 9 at 10 AM, located at Mimosa Lane Baptist Church in Mesquite, TX. The funeral will be followed by a graveside service at 2 PM at Forest Chapel Cemetery located in Chicota, TX. The family will then gather at the Chicota Community Center for fellowship.
