Patricia Dell Goolsby

November 13, 1941 — October 22, 2019

Patricia Dell Pickard Goolsby was born November 13, 1941, in Kaufman, TX. She passed from this life, in sure and certain hope of the resurrection to eternal life, on October 22, 2019, in Mesquite, TX. She was raised in the Urbandale neighborhood of Dallas and graduated from W.W. Samuel High School. While working for an insurance company in Dallas, a coworker (and future sister-in-law) introduced her to Curbe Goolsby. They were married on October 6, 1962, and spent 51 years in sickness and in health. They purchased a home in Mesquite soon after they were married and raised three children there: Leanne, Kenneth, and Jeffery. She was a long-time member of the Highland Oaks Church of Christ. Her life was marked by steadfast love for her family and friends. Between her children and grandchildren, she faithfully attended concerts, recitals, and games for four decades. She enjoyed cooking and taking pictures, especially when family gatherings were involved. She liked being outdoors and enjoyed gardening, camping, and traveling, always in the company of close friends. She had a creative spirit, which she expressed through ceramics, painting, wood crafts, and scrapbooking. She was eager to make others feel comfortable by cracking a joke, baking a dessert, or sending a homemade card. She lived the beatitudes of Christ. She is preceded in death by husband, Curbe Anderson Goolsby; parents, Herman and Maurice Pickard; brother, Jerry Don Pickard; and twin sister, Barbara Nell Pickard. She is survived by daughter, Leanne Edwards and her husband, Chris; son, Kenneth Goolsby; and son, Jeffery Goolsby and his wife, Lisa. Four grandchildren will miss their grandmother deeply: David Goolsby and his wife, Melissa; Crystal Goolsby, Davis Goolsby, and Norah Goolsby. Great-grandchildren Jackson, Amelia, and Avery Goolsby will learn many colorful stories of their Nanny Granny. She is survived by sisters-in-law Susan Pickard, Joyce Barham, Ravanel Choate, Leetta Goolsby, Martha Magouirk, and Judy Fowler; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Many neighbors, coworkers, and long-time friends from the Highland Oaks Church of Christ have freely and generously given their love, encouragement, and prayers over the years. The children would like to thank the nurses and staff of Elysian Hospice for their constant and expert care of their mother. Many friends have provided support in recent years, especially Sheila and Bob Wilhite, who have served tirelessly on behalf of our mother. We thank God every time we remember you.
