BRICE, Sergio Sergio of Sergio's Jewelry of Dallas, Texas died on October 10, 2019 following a brief illness exacerbated by chemotherapy treatment. Sergio was born on May 18, 1954 in Camaguey, Cuba. He and his family left Cuba following Fidel Castro's rise to power and lived in New Jersey and Florida before settling in the Dallas area. He married Jeannie, the "girl next door" and his "high school sweetheart" and they settled in the Dallas Texas area where they made their home for more than 45 years. Sergio worked at Gardner Denver as a mechanical designer before he and Jeannie opened Sergio's Jewelry in the early 1980's. He is survived by his wife Jeannie; son Kahl and wife Lisa; grandson Konnor and granddaughter Katelyn; sister Allison and husband Maisel; brothers Ronnie and wife Robin; Milton and wife Edna; various nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. Sergio will be remembered by many as a very skilled jewelry designer who enjoyed sharing his many talents with his customers. He loved people and was a great hugger. He did not know a stranger and was never was too busy to help a friend or a neighbor. He will be missed greatly but never forgotten by those he loved and those who loved him. "No farewell words were spoken, no time to say goodbye, you were gone before we knew it and only God knows why." A Celebration of Life service will be held on October 26th at 2:00pm at New Hope Funeral Home; 500 US Highway 80; Sunnyvale, Texas 75182. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Jude's Hospital.
