Eulogy of Mr. Abraham Philipose

Mr. Abraham Philipose, fondly known as Kunjumon, was born on July 4, 1943, in Keekozhoor, Ranni, Kerala, India. In the Pottakulathu family he was the eldest son among nine children of the late Mr. Philip P. Abraham and Mrs. Mariamma Abraham. His loving siblings are the late Jainamma Kuruvilla, the late Rev. Abraham Samuel, Elizabeth Thomas, Rev. James Abraham, the late John Abraham, Simon Abraham, Esther Zachariah, and Ruth Thomas.

Raised in a devout, God-fearing home, Philipose was baptized at a young age. His passion for God's Word led him to attend Bible College. Later, he joined the Indian Air Force, serving in the communication department. During his service, he also received management-level training, as well as training in firefighting and security. In 1968, he was posted to Bangalore, where he met his beloved wife, Gracy. They were married on January 15, 1968, in Bangalore, India. After resigning as a Sergeant in the Air Force, he joined the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) in Bangalore in 1977. There, he worked in the public sector, gained diverse experiences, and rose up the ladder.

He and his family lived in Bangalore for 21 years, during which all four of his children were born. He faithfully attended the TPM Church in Bangalore, where he developed a deep love for God and the fellowship of the saints. His devotion to the Lord fueled his passion for service. He served as a Sunday School superintendent, translator, and songwriter, and consistently sought God's presence and will. He raised his children in the fear of God with discipline and love, embodying the heart of a devoted father.

In 1989, after hearing God's clear call, he migrated his family to the United States. He initially worked with Barclays Bank before obtaining a civil service position with the City of White Plains, New York where he continued till his retirement.

In 1990, he began attending New Testament Church in Queens, New York. As the church expanded, he became a strong pillar in the newly formed congregation in Yonkers. In 1995, he encouraged his wife, Gracy, to leave her job and join the Yonkers Christian School. He poured his life out for the work of God with a sacrificial spirit, always seeking to do the will of his Master. In 2006, he retired and served in the Christian school.

In 2016 God extended his life and strengthened him as he faced serious health challenges, but his faith in Christ never wavered. In 2017, they relocated to Texas where they continued to be active in prayers and intercession for the salvation of souls and nations on the prayerline. Despite various health challenges, he remained faithful to his calling until the very end. He fought the good fight of faith, and the Lord will bestow a crown of righteousness as he loved his appearing.

On Sunday, September 21, at 8:45 pm, he peacefully entered the presence of God while being surrounded by his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Gracy his children, Beena and Finney, Reena and Saji, Sherly and Saji, Franklin and Siji; nine cherished grandchildren, Maryanne and Jonathan, Joseph and Crystal, Debbie and Jerin, Sharon and Bibin, Bethany, Lauren, Caitlin, Ava, and Norah; as well as his great-grandchildren, Moriah, Serenity, and Jubilee.

His life was marked by God's favor and honor as he was able to see four generations. His legacy of faith in Christ will remain a source of strength for his family and all who knew him.

We are not saying goodbye to our dear Papa, for we have a HOPE that we will see him again.
