Aleyamma Thomas

August 12, 1938 — April 19, 2022

Aleyamma Thomas (Kunjujamma) was born into a Marthomite family on August 12th, 1938 in Edathua, Kerala. She was the oldest daughter of Late Varkey Chacko and Late Mariamma Chacko. She was the oldest of her five siblings, V.C. Varghese, Anamma Mammen, V.C. Kurian, and Late Pr. V.C. Chacko. On June 6th, 1966 she married her late husband Mr. Thattaruparambil Thomas (Pappachen). Together, they were blessed with two sons, Jacob (Geemon) and Jobby, and one daughter Joyce. She moved to Ramagundam, Andhra Pradesh with her husband and lived there for 18 years.

She accepted the Lord as her personal Savior and was baptized while living in Andhra. She played a great role in spreading the gospel and bringing many to Christ through her acts of kindness and charity. After many years in Andhra, she moved back to Kerala in support of her children and their education. While in Kerala, she was an active member of Thalavady Church of God. She visited the US in 2004 and later immigrated to live with her daughter and family. She also was privileged to visit her son in Australia.

Our mother is survived by her first son Jacob Thomas and wife Lincy Jacob who reside in Australia along with their children Joel and Jocelyn, and her second son Jobby Thomas and wife Asha Jobby who reside in Thiruvalla, India along with their children Julisha and Junita. For the last six years, she was well taken care of by her daughter Joyce Benny, her son-in-law Benny Chandy, and their children Benjamin, Rebecca, and Thomas who reside in Rockwall, TX. Though our Mother was small in stature she was mighty in her Faith. All who knew her and met her had the opportunity to always hear about the good word. This was imperative for her. She loved the ministry and always did what she could to support the servants of God, both in India and through-out the world. Our Mother was promoted to glory on April 19th, 2022 at the age of 83 due to her failing health in the recent year. She kept her Faith till the very end and now has gone to be with her Lord.
