Alfred Pascua

Alfred “Al” Kawika Pascua, 59, of Mesquite, Texas left this life to be with his Lord on Saturday, January 4, 2014. Alfred was born May 22, 1954 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Alfred and Elizabeth Pascua. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1974 to 1977. While in the Army, he became friends with a Texan with a good-looking sister. He married Susan Kay Spangler on June 30, 1978 in Dallas, Texas and later had two beautiful daughters. Alfred was employed as a route salesman for Armour Swift-Eckrich for twenty years. In his younger days, he enjoyed collecting baseball cards, finding treasures from garage sales with his father-in-law, and he also loved to minister in song at his church with his wife. He had a gift for music and would play his guitar or ukulele, especially when his brothers would come to visit. When his grandkids were born, he loved to play and make them laugh, often getting into mischief with them. In his later years, he developed a love for farming - on Facebook. He enjoyed his morning prayer and bible time with Joyce Meyer and Creflo Dollar.Most importantly, he had a love for Christ and was a man of great faith. Those left to treasure his many memories are his beloved wife Susan of thirty-five years, daughter Crystal Prater and husband Gabriel of Mesquite, Texas, daughter Candace Baker and husband Brian of Mesquite, Texas; three grand children Caleb Prater, Grace Prater and Isabella Baker; four brothers, Wayne D. Pascua and wife Lanette of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, Miles M. Pascua and wife Melanie of Manassas, Virginia, Michael D. Pascua and wife Virginia “Dodie” of Pascagoula, Mississippi, and Matthew A. Pascua and wife Maile of Ewa Beach, Hawaii; three sisters, Doris K. Gayer and husband Michael of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, Roberta L. Kamakele and husband Clayton (deceased) of Makaha, Hawaii, and Kimberly G. L. Dungca and husband Jordan of Wahiawa, Hawaii. Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Elizabeth Pascua. A memorial service celebrating Alfred’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 10 at Family Cathedral of Praise church, 790 Windbell Circle, Mesquite, Texas 75149, Pastor Harry Lee Sewell will be officiating.Hawaiian or colorful attire is requested in honor of Alfred. The family appreciates your continued prayers and support, and requests memorials, in honor of Alfred Pascua, be made to Family Cathedral of Praise church.
