Aurora Teves

June 20, 1950 — March 27, 2021

Aurora Teves passed away at her home surrounded by family and friends on March 27, 2021. Aurora was born on June 20, 1950 in Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte,  Philippines, to Santiago Villalas Sr. and Dionesia Villalas. She had two children, Arthur and Jessica Briones with her first husband Jovenio Briones, and married Alejandro Teves in February 1991.

Aurora pursued a career in nursing; receiving her associate's degree from San Juan de Dios Hospital (1973), and her bachelor's degree from Arellano University (1978). Shortly after, she moved to Texas and made it her new home, where she found her spiritual family at Macedonia Baptist Church in 1988. Aurora worked over 35 years as a registered nurse, spending the bulk of her career at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas and Sunnyvale, until she was diagnosed with stage IV non-small cell lung cancer in 2018.

She loved her profession, traveling, singing, playing the piano, and worshipping the Lord. Aurora was very giving, loving, and selfless; always willing to help anyone in need, and never expecting anything in return. She was a very hard worker and was never one to complain, even as she was battling cancer.

Aurora was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers David, Manolo, and Armando. She was survived by her husband, and children; brother Santiago Jr., and sister Lorna Enoy.

Visitation will be held on Fri, April 9, 6-8pm at New Hope Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service on Sat, April 10 at 11am at Macedonia Baptist Church in Mesquite, TX.

Aurora will be forever missed and loved! Thank you all for your continued prayers and love towards Aurora and the family!
