Barbara Myers

Barbara Myers, born on April 8, 1939, in Mesquite, Texas, passed away at home on February 7, 2026, at the age of 86 from a long battle of several illnesses. Barbara was a devoted mother, a beloved sister, and an adoring grandmother. She is survived by her son David Myers and daughter-in-law Julie Myers, her daughters Shari Myers Cobb and Karla Myers, grandson Zachary Myers and wife Shannon and great granddaughter Madi, granddaughter Mandy Myers Leos and her loving sisters Deedra Sipes and Sharon Everett.

Barbara's life was defined by her passion for family, a strong work ethic and spending time outside with her roses. A Mesquite high school graduate, she dedicated her career to data processing, payroll, and purchasing, always bringing her artistic flair to her work. Outside of her professional achievements, Barbara found joy in gardening, cultivating not only beautiful flowers and plants but also a nurturing home environment for her loved ones.

Her artistic nature flourished in various hobbies, where she often could be found creating beautiful pieces in painting flowers that brought much joy to her. Barbara's home was a canvas of her passions, filled with vibrant colors and life, much like her spirit.

Special moments include countless family gatherings, where her warmth and laughter made every occasion special. She had a remarkable ability to connect with her children and grandchildren, instilling in them the values of love, creativity, and family unity. She also loved her sisters dearly and cherished spending as much time with them as possible.

Visitation will be held at New Hope Funeral Home- Stateroom A on February 16, 2026, at 12:00 PM. A graveside service will follow honoring her life at New Hope Memorial Gardens at 2:00 PM the same day.

Barbara will be laid to rest at 500 US Highway 80 E, Sunnyvale, TX 75182. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love and creativity that will forever reside in the hearts of those she touched.

Barbara was preceded in death by: mother Lillian Hurley, father John Hurley, sister Karon Hurley.
