Ben Steven McWilliams

April 29, 1958 — April 9, 2023

Ben Steven McWilliams was born on April 29,1958 in Dallas, TX; the son of Johnny McWilliams and Flora Provence McWilliams. He passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on April 9,2023 at the age of 64 at a local hospital in Dallas after a brief and unexpected illness.

He attended Mesquite High School where he played football and ran track, until he graduated with his class in 1976. Ben also played baseball for the City of Mesquite for many years. Like most brothers he loved to torment his sisters, he was plain spoken with a great sense of humor that we all looked up to and adored. He worked for American National LLC, where he was a long haul truck driver. Ben loved seeing the country all across the USA. When he was home he loved getting on the tractor or mower and spending time outdoors. He loved college football especially the Texas Longhorns. He was taken too soon and will be missed by all that loved him.

Ben is preceded in death by his mother Flora McWilliams of Brashear, TX, daughter Melanie McWilliams, and brother Joe Carnathan.

He is survived by his father Johnny McWilliams of Brashear, sister Kathy McDonald Lewis and husband Doug of Brashear, TX, sister Diane Brown and husband Don of Wills Point, sister Alethea Lohner and husband Steve of Scurry, sister Debra Hining and husband Brian of Royce City, sister Becky Scott and husband Steve of Pearl, MS., sister Paula Koenig and husband Francis of Gretna, LA., sister Linda Carnathan of Gretna, LA., brother Judson Smith and wife Kay of Mesquite. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and other family members and many friends. Ben was loved by many and will be missed tremendously.
