Betsy Helen Garner

Betsy Helen Garner, age 95, (born August 11, 1926) passed away peacefully on November 30, 2021. She was the widow of Marion Marshall Garner, Jr. They shared 61 years of marriage together.

Born in Crandall, TX, Betsy was the oldest daughter of Arthur Carroll, Sr. and Sarah Frances Lane. She graduated from Crandall High School in 1945.

Betsy was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Forney. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Betsy served many people in the city of Forney through her many years of experience in various cafes. When her children were younger and in school, Betsy was very involved helping with Vacation Bible School, 4-H, PTA, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Paschall, of Frisco, TX; son, Larry Garner and wife, Jana, of Forney, TX; grandchildren, Jennifer Gathright and husband, Kelly, of Gun Barrel City, TX; Sharon Garner of Whitehouse, TX and Mark Garner and wife, Ashley, of Argyle, TX. She is survived by four great grandchildren, Kelsey Herman, Blake Gathright, Sawyer Garner and Laney Garner. She is also survived by two siblings, William Lane and Sarah Nabors.

Visitation will be held at New Hope Funeral Home located at 500 East Hwy 80, Sunnyvale, TX 75182, on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 1 pm, followed by a memorial service at 2 pm. Graveside service will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Forney, TX.
