Betty Traylor

Betty Jo (Elkins) Traylor was born March 19, 1938 in Houston, TX and passed away on July 10, 2023 in Mesquite, TX surrounded by her children.

She spent the majority of her 85 years as a loving Mother, Granny, and Great-Granny to her family. As the matriarch of the family, to many, she seemed to be an immortal fighter, who could always stand-up to and conquer whatever challenges she faced. Her spirit lives on through her many children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Betty joins in Heaven with her mother Eunice Ethel Fulkerson, and her father Charles Douglas Elkins, as well as her oldest daughter Terrie Lynn Lowery.

Betty is survived by her children, Ethelynn Clarice "Sam" Daniel - (Danny), John Clarence Cooley, Bettie Ford - (Evan), Linda Kirkpatrick - (Floyd), James Traylor - (Heather), and Douglas Lowery - (Grace).

Her memory lives on through her grandchildren, Aric Daniel - (Angela), Shela Patriquin - (Wallace), Daniel Daniel - (Raelene), "Little" John Cooley, Jeremy Cooley, Cory Ford - (Brittany), Matthew Ford, Shane Kirkpatrick - (Tasha), Michael Kirkpatrick - (Marissa), Brittany Young - (Spencer), Dylan Traylor, Logan Traylor, Colton Traylor, and Megan Traylor, and all of her great and great-great grandchildren.

Graveside memorial services will be held Friday, July 14, 2023 at New Hope Funeral Home, 500 East Hwy 80, Sunnyvale, TX 75182 at 10:00 am. The hour prior to the service will be for family to gather and hold space for remembrance.

A Celebration of Life for the family will continue from 4:00-8:00 pm, Saturday, July 15, 2023 at the home of Bettie Ford, 1101 Majors Dr., Mesquite, TX 75149.
