Bobby Earl Stroud, 79 of Mesquite, TX passed away peacefully on 8/20/2021. Bobby, the second of four children, was born 8/11/1942 in Dallas, TX to Ruth Wimbish and Afton Maurice Stroud. Bobby attended Mesquite High School until he joined the Navy in 1960. He served on the USS Lexington in the Pacific Fleet and was discharged in 1966. He worked for the International Union of Elevator Constructors Local #21 for 25+ years and retired after health issues. Bobby loved his family and his life centered around them. He loved hunting and fishing and being outdoors. Bobby also enjoyed watching Robert play football and coaching his daughter Karen's softball teams. Bobby's grandchildren were the light of his life in his later years. Bobby was survived by his son, Robert Stroud and wife Sherri, his daughter Karen Stroud Corby and her husband Russ; 6 grandchildren, Ashley, Lindsey, Brittany, Michael, Carson and Jack; 2 great grandchildren, Emily and Michael; his brother Jerry Stroud, his sister, Barbara Stroud Mackey, his brother Bill Stroud and his wife Anne. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Maurice Stroud.
