Branon Hensley

September 8, 1981 — June 11, 2022

Beloved husband, father, son, grandson, nephew, son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle and friend passed through this life and onto the next on June 11, 2022. Branon Hensley, born in Garland, Texas in 1981, spent his early life in Mesquite, Texas where he played pee wee football and met his future wife, Rebecca, at the age of 14.

In adulthood, Branon did home remodeling, specializing in laying hardwood floors. He enjoyed summers, when Joe and Jesse came to work with him, so he could teach them about the skill and art it took to lay hardwoods. In 2015, Branon began working at UPS as a nighttime loader, then as a local route driver. Shortly after, Branon proudly earned his CDL, one of his life’s biggest accomplishments. Upon receiving his CDL, he got on a long-haul route driving a semi-trailer. Despite being gone days at a time, when he arrived home from a cross country trip, he would go directly to wherever Rebecca and the kids were. If one of his kids had a sporting event, he would go directly to the field, in uniform even, to make sure that he was able to watch as much of the game and spend as much time as possible with his family.

Family meant everything to Branon. He loved simple days, grilling and relaxing with Rebecca and the kids. If the TV was on, everyone had to watch the news channels or the History Channel, he was a huge history buff and would often throw random facts into conversations. He was honored to have been able to coach little league and teach the kids about fishing.

Though he lived a short life, and though we will forever miss his laugh, loyalty, sense of humor and fierce love of his family, he touched many hearts and had a big impact on all our lives.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Yvonne and grandmother, Shirley “Nanny” Gatton.

He is survived by loving wife Rebecca; children Joseph, Kyndall and Jesse; grandfather Frank Gatton; uncles Kevin Hensley and Tim Gatton; father Harold Tibbs; siblings Brian Hensley, Trey, Travis, Trinity, Tanner, Talon  and Taylar Tibbs; Parent-in-laws, Art and Rosemary Valencia; Sister and Brother-in-law Elena and Aaron Richey; and many nieces and nephews.
