Byron Jackson Forshee

February 19, 1942 — August 7, 2021

On August 7, 2021, Byron Jackson Forshee passed in peace to go and be with his savior. Byron was born on February 19, 1942 in Brandon, Mississippi to his parents, Mr. JC Forshee and Mrs. Elma Forshee. Byron attended Puckett Attendance Center, and following high school entered into his first profession of an automobile mechanic. In 1962, Byron met his future bride, Mary Joyce Taylor, whom he married on September 6, 1963 and would enjoy nearly 58 years together. Byron was an entrepreneur for most of his life, and Byron and Joyce opened Forshee General Merchandise, in 1978 in Puckett, MS for which would be his primary profession as a small business owner until his retirement in 2000. Byron served as Mayor of Puckett from 1977-1981 and continued to provide public service after his tenure as Mayor.

Byron was the proud father of his two sons, Robert Jackson Forshee, born. on October 12 1970, and Byron Jason Forshee, born on July 18, 1973, each in Jackson, MS. Byron was an honest and generous man that always treated everyone fairly and believed in giving help to those that were less fortunate. In 2012, Byron relocated to Forney, TX prior to the birth of his second grandson and finished his final years in Forney enjoying the time with his wife, son and grandsons.

Byron is survived by his wife, Joyce, 75, son, Jason, 48, grandsons, Blake, 11, Robert, 9, and Spence, 5, all of Dallas, TX, brother, Bruce Forshee, 62, and wife, Mary, of Bogue Chitto, MS, sister Lanelle Wusterbarth, 77, and husband, Bob, of Brookhaven, MS, and is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. JC Forshee, sister, Elizabeth Moore, and son, Robert Jackson Forshee.
