Cathy Lanette Terry, 66, of Forney, Texas, passed away on May 11, 2025. Cathy was a devoted mother, loving grandmother, cherished sister, and dear friend. Her warmth, compassion, and strength touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She was born on November 6, 1958, in Plainview, Texas, to Flake Price and Genna Hackler Price, and older sister, Connie. Cathy was raised on the farm in Olton, Texas until about the third grade, when they moved to Plainview. She attended Plainview schools and graduated from Plainview High School in 1977. She met the man, Eugene Terry, she would be married to for almost 35 years until his death in 2015. They were married on October 18, 1980. After what she thought was a bout of food poisoning, their daughter Camber, showed up in September of 1981. After a few years of recovering from a cute, but horrendously colicky baby, their son Trey, arrived in April of 1985. He was a great baby, so they stopped there. Cathy had gone to business school before getting married, which led her to become involved in accounting. No matter where she worked, Coca-Cola, Jimmy Dean, TRS, Oswald's Printing & Supply, various homebuilder or Altura Builders, she was great with numbers and people. If she said she was handling it, she was. Everyone loved working with her and no doubt, her loving motherly ways will live in their hearts forever. The "Don't make my monkeys fly", " Put on your big girl/boy pants and deal with it", "I'm going to hang you by your toes", and "Kiddo" or "Missy Ma'am" will never be forgotten. Besides pouring into her work, she poured into her children, grandchildren, and other family and friends. She loved to hang out with them, tell them truths they weren't sure they needed to hear and stories of days gone by, and she loved to cook for them. Her macaroni, pancakes, and strawberry icebox cake will be hard to replicate because of the amount of love that went into them. Her dedication, loyalty, and spirit will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents, Flake and Genna, and husband, Eugene. Cathy is survived by her children, daughter Camber Mathis and her love Max Rodriguez, son Trey Terry, and his wife Amanda Terry; her grandchildren: Kayleigh Terry, Brooklyn Devine, Gavin Devine, Callie Mathis, and Callen Mathis; her sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Johnny Hughes; and her nephews: Jason and Anna Hughes, and Brian Hughes; extended family of cousins, in-laws, outlaws, friends, and co-workers that were like family. In honor of Cathy's life and legacy, the visitation will commence on May 21, 2025, at 1:00 PM. A celebration of life service will follow at 2:00 PM, where we will gather to celebrate Cathy's journey and the love she shared with so many. The family asks that you please wear something in wicked witch colors or something bright she would have loved. Following the funeral service, Cathy will be laid to rest at New Hope Memorial Gardens at 3:00 PM, where family and friends can gather to honor her memory and everyone is welcome to attend. Cathy's impact on those fortunate enough to have known her will be felt for generations, and her light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her loved ones. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
