Clifford Wayne Hetchler, who we all lovingly know as "Cliff", passed away on September 28, 2025 at the age of 84. He was born on March 21, 1941, in Paris, Texas, to George William Hetchler and Rosa Lee Gills. As the third child in his family, he grew up alongside his siblings, Geraldine ("Jerrie"), James Thomas, and Leonard Ray, surrounded early by family bonds that would remain a focal point in his life.
In 1956, Cliff met the love of his life, Sharon Blair Goodbar. The two shared a love story that grew into a lifelong partnership, marrying on June 21, 1958. Together they raised five children - Clifford Wayne Jr., Kenneth Ray, Brian Keith, Karen Dawn, and Keila Dyane - building a home filled with love, devotion, adventures, and laughter. Cliff was a proud husband, father, and grandfather. He was a friend to all, and nothing brought him more joy than being surrounded by his loved ones. Cliff was truly the strongest branch of the family tree.
For nearly 40 years, Cliff dedicated himself to a successful career as a life insurance agent. Known for his honesty, dedication, and care for others, he earned numerous recognitions including Agent of the Year and also served as a District Manager. In 1995, he became an independent agent, continuing to serve loyal policyholders for many, many years. His work was never just about numbers or policies - it was about building trust and helping families find security for their futures.
Beyond his professional life, Cliff had a deep passion in genealogy. He spent countless hours researching family histories, piecing together stories, and connecting relatives across the U.S and into Canada. His passion not only preserved family legacies, but also created new connections that will continue to ripple throughout generations.
After the passing of his beloved wife Sharon in 2011, Cliff found companionship and joy once again with Margaret Ann Napier, with whom he shared many meaningful years.
Cliff is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Goodbar Hetchler; daughter, Karen Dawn Hetchler; sons, Clifford Wayne Hetchler, Jr. and Brian Keith Hetchler; father, George William Hetchler; step-father, Robert Eugene Morgan; mother, Rosa Lee Morgan; and brother, Leonard Ray Hetchler.
He is survived by his loving companion, Annie Napier; son, Kenneth Ray Hetchler; daughter, Keila Hetchler Revell; step-daughter, Tanja Dimmit Smith; sister, Geraldine Smith; brother, James Hetchler; as well as 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, who will carry his love and memory with them always.
