Connie Sellers, a woman of profound faith, boundless joy, and endless creativity, passed away on June 26, 2026, at the age of 63.
Born in Brookhaven, Mississippi, on March 7, 1963, to Wiley James and Mary Lane Sellers, Connie was a force of nature from the start-fearless, smart, and incredibly talented. She possessed a quick wit and a contagious laugh; she and her loved ones spent years laughing over the fact that she didn't have a middle name. It didn't matter-her bright, unmistakable smile spoke for itself.
Connie's roots were in Mississippi, where she graduated from Forrest County Agricultural High School in 1981 and the University of Southern Mississippi in 1985. She later earned a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2004. Connie dedicated over 40 years of her life to Presbyterian Hospital (Texas Health Resources), earning the respect of her colleagues as she worked her way up to Medical Laboratory Scientist Lead.
But her true north was always her faith. After moving to Dallas in the late '80s, she found a spiritual home at Lakeside Baptist Church (now Lakepointe East Campus). Connie worshiped through music, sharing her beautiful alto voice in solos and choir, ringing handbells, and directing the children's Super Summer Singers. No task was too small for her; she ran the technical Sunday video displays, built props, and designed costumes, ensuring everything was perfect for the Lord.
When she wasn't serving at church or working, Connie lived life with immense enthusiasm. She was a die-hard fan of the Dallas Cowboys, the Dallas Stars, and the Texas Rangers, bringing that signature energy to every game day. She loved to travel the world, exploring new places and making beautiful memories. To Connie, the deep friendships she built along the way were not just casual connections-her friends were her chosen family, and she cherished them fiercely.
Though she made her home in Texas, Connie's love for her roots always drew her back to Mississippi multiple times a year. She was a legendary aunt, famous for creating intricate, personalized games and scavenger hunts that made finding Christmas presents an unforgettable adventure for her niece and nephews.
Her legacy of joy, faith, and unconditional love lives on in her brother, Kevin Sellers, and his wife, Sharon, of Oak Grove; her nephews, Hunter (Caroline), Parker, and Christopher; her niece, Summer; and her great-niece, Blair. She joins in Heaven her parents, Wiley James and Mary Lane Sellers, who preceded her in death.
