Dan Bartlett lll, age 80, of Mesquite, TX, passed away on May 12, 2024. He was born to Dan and Martha Bartlett on October 27, 1943 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Dan graduated from Amarillo High School in 1962. He furthered his education at West Texas State University graduating in 1968. He married the love of his life, Connie Bartlett on December 11, 1964, in Amarillo, Tx. Dan spent many years working as a Data Base Architect. Due to this job, Dan and Connie moved to Oklahoma, Utah, and finally settled in Mesquite, Tx. Dan was an active member of Rodgers Baptist Church until his health made it impossible to be there. He was affectionately known as "The Candy Man" to all the children who looked forward to seeing him each week and he looked forward to seeing them. In 2014, Dan graduated from and served in the Mesquite Police Department Citizen's Police Academy voluntarily for over 2 years. He enjoyed collecting various guns and knives. Dan absolutely loved his grand and great grandchildren and looked forward to seeing them every chance he got. He always wore his Santa Papa hat at Christmas time and loved watching everyone open their gifts.
Dan is survived by is wife of 59 years, Connie; daughter, Debra and husband, Dan Williford; son, John and wife Angie Bartlett; his grandchildren, Sarah and Trevor Jones, Jonathan and Selena Williford, Becka and William Tilghman, Abi Bartlett and Cheyenne Bartlett; his great grandchildren, Travis, Kambree, Ryleigh, Aubree and River.
He was preceded in death by one son, Baby Boy Bartlett, his father, Dan Bartlett Jr., mother, Martha Bartlett and brother, David Bartlett.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm and funeral services at 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Rodgers Baptist Church, 801 W. Buckingham Rd, Garland,Tx.
