Listen to Obituary

Daphne Ann Hart Adams, beloved mom, DeeDee and GiGi passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025 one day shy of turning 81. She was born on July 12, 1944 to Jack Seale Hart and Ella Lee Neal Hart in Columbus Ohio. Daphne was an only child and relished her role as being her parents and grandparents pride and joy. Born into a military family, she spent her early years moving from place to place, experiencing life in many different cities and countries. Though her childhood was filled with adventure and travel, her heart always belonged to Jasper, Texas; the place she considered her true home. Daphne graduated from Alice High School in 1962 and went to college at the University of Texas. Saturdays in the fall were sacred - no matter what was going on, you could find her wearing burnt orange and rooting passionately for her Longhorns. Her greatest joy was being a mom and raising her three daughters. She could be found at every game, activity and event always being the biggest cheerleader for them and their friends. She was later blessed with 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren who were the true light of her life. Daphne was a longtime member of The First United Methodist Church of Kemp where she played the piano for many years. She was a legal secretary and worked for Kaufman county in the district attorneys office and for the district judge until her retirement in 2011.

Daphne is survived by her 3 daughters; Amy Lee Hawkins, Jennifer Ann Nelson and husband Greg, Molly Hart Brinkley and husband Michael; grandchildren; Kyle & Steven Nelson and wife Kristen, Corbett Joseph and Colin Edward Davis, Matthew Haffner and wife Rylie, Allison Hart and Jackson Wesley Haffner, Hunter, Hannah and Brooke Ann Brinkley; great-grandchildren; Elyssa, McKenna, Rhylin, Freya Rose, and Rowan; uncle Wesley L. Neal, Jr. and wife Joan and their daughters Nancy Allmon & Jana Armentrout; sister-in-law Susan Briggs; and her precious girls' other mother Pat Allison.

She is preceded in death by her loving parents; and sisters-in-law Mary Linda Bennington and Anne Allison-Smith.

Pallbearers are her grandsons and sons-in-law.
