David Leroy Holt, born on May 31, 1944, peacefully passed away on July 11, 2025, at the age of 81. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sherry Holt; daughters Cathrin and Stacia Holt; son-in-law Glenn Dickerson; and granddaughters Savannah, Eva, and Eliza Dickerson. David is also survived by his brother James Holt and sister-in-law Sylvia Holt.
David proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1964 to 1972, achieving the rank of PT2 and participating in the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge, he enjoyed a fulfilling career which allowed him to pursue the hobbies he loved. An avid skier and a passionate participant in track and field, David embraced an active lifestyle. His days were often filled with laughter and joy, sipping coffee with the "old dudes" at the local diner, sharing stories and making memories.
A man of faith, David found solace and community in his church, where he forged lasting friendships and was well-known for his warm smile and welcoming spirit. He left a positive impact on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. As he departed this world, his family cherishes the memories of his adventurous spirit and loving nature.
David's life will be celebrated by friends and family in a memorial service to be held at 10:00am Thursday, July 24, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Sunnyvale where those who loved him will gather to honor his legacy and share their cherished memories of him. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and his remarkable journey will forever inspire those he touched.
