David Marshall Hughes

David Marshall Hughes passed away on October 22, 2021 after a short battle with Metastatic Melanoma Cancer. David was born on August 9, 1960 to Harold and Sandra Hughes in Dallas, Texas. After graduating from North Mesquite High School in 1979 he went on to serve in the Navy on the USS Carl Vincent as a Master Helmsman and would drive the smaller boat for the admiral and captain. In David's spare time he loved volunteering at Children's Medical Center and the Las Cruces Farmers Market. David is preceded in death by his father, Coach Harold Hughes, grandparents and numerous Aunts and Uncles. He is survived by the love of his life, Laura Perelas; mother, Sandy Hughes; sisters, Susan Skoch (Rob) and Beth Rogers (Mike); nieces and nephews, Chuck Rogers (Lauren), Summer Rogers (Mark), Jessica Carmickle (Klint), Eric Skoch, Leticia Lawson, Pete Perales, Oscar Ryan Perales, Venessa Perales La Brada, Alex Perales and Alyssa Villafranco; God children Dani and Daven and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Friday, October 29th at 1:00pm at New Hope Funeral Home located at 500 US-80, Sunnyvale, TX 75182. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Society for Melanoma Research or the charity of your choice.
