In Loving Memory of Dawn Alana Roland

October 11, 1966 - September 24, 2026

Dawn Alana Roland was born on October 11, 1966, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Willard Carr and Mary Frances Moore. She grew up in Ponca City, Oklahoma, where the foundation was laid for the strength, compassion, determination, and love that would define her life.

Following high school, Dawn answered the call to serve her country by joining the United States Army. Her military service reflected qualities that those who loved her would come to know so well - courage, discipline, perseverance, and a willingness to serve others.

After her military service, Dawn continued her education and earned her bachelor's degree from LeTourneau University. She later dedicated herself to education, serving as a teacher at Renner Middle School. As an educator, she had the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young people, extending the same spirit of care and service that she demonstrated throughout her life. Yet, out of all Dawn's accomplishments, none meant more to her than being a mother.

Dawn was the proud and devoted mother of her two sons, Q'Teagan Roland and Courtlan Roland. She raised her boys as a single mother, often working multiple jobs at the same time to make sure they had everything they needed. Life was not always easy, but Dawn never allowed the difficulty of her circumstances to determine the future of her children.

Dawn loved deeply and selflessly. She was someone who consistently put others before herself and was willing to sacrifice for the people she loved. Her family was the center of her world, and some of her greatest joy came simply from spending time with them.

Those fortunate enough to know Dawn will also remember her smile... a smile that could light up any room she entered. Behind that smile was a woman of extraordinary strength, warmth, and resilience.

Dawn faced struggles with remarkable courage. There were difficult days, but she continued to fight. She fought with the same strength with which she had approached so much of her life. Even when her body grew tired, her spirit remained strong. And on September 24, 2026, Dawn was called home to rest. Dawn had fought a long and courageous fight, and she remained a fighter until the very end.

Dawn leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Mary Frances Moore; her sons, Q'Teagan Roland and Courtlan Roland; her grandchildren, Jayden Hays, Courtlan Roland Jr., Asher Roland, and Alana Roland; her sister, Nicole Mohamed; her niece, Kahli Ivory, and the many family members, friends, students, and loved ones whose lives were touched by her kindness and love.

Dawn's life cannot be measured simply by the years between her birth and her passing. Her life is measured by the sacrifices she made, the people she helped, the children she taught, the family she loved, and the two sons she worked so hard to raise. Her family will forever carry with them the lessons she taught through the way she lived: love your family fiercely, put others before yourself, keep fighting when life becomes difficult, and never stop working toward a better tomorrow for the people you love.

Dawn Alana Roland gave so much of herself so that the people she loved could have more. Her work is finished. Her fight is over. And although she will be deeply missed, the love she gave, the sacrifices she made, and the family she built will ensure that her legacy lives on for generations.

Rest peacefully, Dawn. You fought the good fight, you finished your course, and you kept the faith.
