Debra Chorette Crockett

Debra Chorette Crockett entered into eternal rest on August 3, 2026, at the age of 64. She was born in Marshall, Texas, on November 5, 1961, to Noble Lee Crockett and Betty Sue Crockett.

She is survived by her children, Trinette Fountain, Ashley Crockett, Channing Ward, Cedrick Ward, Shuntay Ward, Andrian Crockett, Nicole Barten, and Corey Barten; 20 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Noble Lee Crockett and Betty Sue Crockett; her brother, Noble Lee Crockett Jr.; and her sister, Dorothy Mae Wilson.

Debra was a woman of God, and her faith was at the center of her life. She was prayerful, faithfully read the Word, and sought to live by what she believed. Her faith shaped the way she loved her family, treated people, and carried herself through life. She believed in treating people right, showing love, and being there for others.

Debra spent about 30 years working in the hospitality industry, including many years at the Stockyards Hotel in Fort Worth, TX. She had plenty of stories from those years, and if you spent enough time around her, you were bound to hear a few. Debra enjoyed a simple life and the things that were familiar to her. In her spare time, she loved Westerns, daytime television, and the old black-and-white shows she grew up watching. If you went into her room to spend time with her, sooner or later you found yourself watching whatever was on her television. That was simply part of being with Mama. More than anything, Debra loved her family. We knew it, but more importantly, we felt it. Even though there were many of us, she somehow always had time for every one of us. None of us ever felt like we couldn't go to Mama. We could call her, talk to her, sit in her room, lie on her bed, or simply be there with her. She made time for each of us in her own way. She taught us how to treat people. She taught us to work hard, to take responsibility for ourselves, and most of all, to lead with love.

Her presence will be deeply missed, but what she gave to her family remains with us. The faith she lived, the lessons she taught, the love she gave, and the way she made herself available to the people she loved will continue through all of us.
