Denise Faye Hutchings

Denise Faye Hutchings, affectionately known to those she loved as "Nenie" and "Nesie," passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends in Plano, Texas on June 14, 2026, at the age of 64. A long time resident of Ferris, Texas, Denise leaves behind a legacy defined by her vibrant spirit, entrepreneurial drive, and fierce devotion to her family and friends.

Born on October 26, 1961, in Dallas, Texas, Denise was the cherished daughter of Alvin Chess Shotwell and Bobbie "Joan" Cope. As a successful business owner, she brought determination and passion to everything she did. Outside of work, Denise knew how to enjoy life; she had a great love for visiting casinos, could often be found listening to her favorite music by Adele, and found her greatest joy in the presence of her family and friends. Her lively spirit and dedication to those she held dear will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Denise was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Joan Shotwell; her beloved husband, Charles "Chuck" Hutchings; their daughter, Jena Hutchings; and her twin brother, Dennis Shotwell.

Her memory will be forever kept alive by her loving family and the many individuals to whom she was like a second mother. She is survived by her children: Andurea Alexander and her spouse Grant Carpenter, Ronda Strebeck, Darrell Fields and his spouse Donna Fields. She was a proud grandmother to Lily Alexander, Taylor and Tony Strebeck, and Brandi Clymer, Justin Carmona, and Stephani Griffin. She is also survived by her sister, Deborah Hancher; her niece, Samantha Westbrooks and her spouse Robert "Roberto" Westbrooks; her nephew, Steven Shotwell and his spouse Melissa Shotwell; as well as her great-nieces and great-nephews, Blake, Autumn, Josanne, Meagan, April, Jessica, Gabrielle and Jacob along with an extended circle of beloved relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home (500 US-80, Sunnyvale, TX 75182). Funeral services will take place the following morning, Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 10:00 AM at New Hope Funeral Home. A burial service will follow at 1:00 PM at the DFW National Cemetery (2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Kidney fund in honor of Denise.
