Dora Lopez Rodriguez was born to Juan and Amancia Lopez on July 8th, 1947 in Texas and went to join her husband in heaven on January 20th, 2022, in Dallas, Texas. Dora is preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 45 years, Ramon Rodriguez; her son Raymundo Duran; her brother Joe Lopez and both of her parents, Juan and Amancia Lopez.  She is survived by her children, Lisa Duran; Jennifer Duran; Juan Ramon & Aloma Rodriguez; Aaron Rodriguez; stepchildren, Ramon; Thelma; Eli & Ruben; and two grandchildren she adopted, Kimberly Garcia Rodriguez and Jacob Rodriguez.  Dora is also survived by over 30 grandchildren, many of whom she raised and over 40 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Johnny & Connie Lopez, Arthur & Dora Lopez, Roy Lopez, Danny & Sara Lopez, Grace Lopez, Esteban & Amanda Lopez.  She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Dora moved to Dallas from San Angelo in the late 70’s and dedicated most of her life to raising her children and grandchildren. She was an eccentric, classy, spit fire, praying woman of God.  A woman who exemplified what it was to pray without ceasing.  She was your ride or die, everyone’s best friend or mother figure.  She was the “favorite” sister, aunt or grandmother.  She just had that energy about her but was also so down to earth.  As a young adult she attended secretarial school, cosmetology school and shortly pursued a nursing career.  Because of her confidence, beauty and charm, she was even offered the opportunity to become a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader.  She worked for Dallas Independent School District and retired to raise her grandchildren.  Dora spent her weekends serving at her home church as a Sunday school teacher and missionettes leader.  Always serving and hosting where needed.  She will be remembered for her dedication to her family….her husband, her children and grandchildren.
