Dorothy Ruth Moore

Dorothy Ruth Moore, age 86, of Mesquite, TX, passed away Monday, October 3, 2022. She was born May 26, 1936 in Lewisville, TX to Virgil and Ruth Johnson.

Dorothy grew up in Lewisville, TX. She graduated from Lewisville High School, where she was member of the Fighting Farmers Drill Team and played drums on the pep squad. Dorothy married her husband, Cecil Dent Moore on November 12, 1955, until his passing on October 5, 2020.

As a loving mother and grandmother, her greatest joy was raising her three children, Dent, Vickie, and Chis and then spending time with her grandchildren, AJ, Breck and Kiera.

Dorothy, a dedicated homemaker, enjoyed staying up late reading a good book or watching classic Western movies. She was also an avid NASCAR fan.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Cecil Moore; her parents; brothers, Floyd Johnson, Cloyce Johnson, Lawson Johnson, Olan Johnson, Donald L Johnson, and Curtis Johnson; sister, Marie Barrett.

She is survived by two sisters; Clara Mehne and Margaret Ludolph, three children; Cecil Dent Moore Jr., Vickie Ruth Moore and wife April, and Christopher Lee Moore and wife Julie; grandchildren, Aaron Joseph Acuna (AJ), Breck Gavin Moore, and Kiera Brianna Moore; numerous nieces and nephews.
