Duane Daniel Markham

September 10, 1960 — July 21, 2022

Duane Daniel Markham was born on September 10, 1960 in Albion, Michigan. He grew up in Marshall, Michigan and never stopped talking about how much he loved it. When he got older he lived in Longview, Texas and later Caddo Mills where he attended New Life Family Fellowship for a short time. He recently moved to Mesquite to be closer to his kids.

Duane was a very hard worker and he loved working with his hands. He was a contract painter for many years and he eventually went to work for TD Industries in their Mechanical Division and Parts. He was also involved in multiple construction projects including helping to build the old Cowboys Stadium.

Duane was a huge fan of music and movies, he and his son would constantly talk about the newest trailers coming out. He was always very interested in travel and he loved an adventure. In his free time, he really enjoyed fixing and building things. Duane also loved people. He never met a person who didn’t absolutely love him and think he was the kindest, most generous person ever. He put everyone else first. He would hide his own needs in order to do something for someone else or make their day better. He was crazy about his family. He always looked forward to holidays and dinners with his sister and her family. His son was his very best friend. They did everything together and they would talk for hours about anything and everything. He was never happier than he was with his son, until he was with his son and daughter-in-law. As he would have put it, his kids were his world. If you knew Duane, you know we can’t talk about things he loved without mentioning two words: coffee and chocolate. Those two things were a close second place to his family.

Duane passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022. He was preceded by his Father, George Markham, and his mother, Donna Markham. He is survived by his son, Jacob Markham, his daughter-in-law, Jordan Markham, his sister, Diana Walling, his brother-in-law, Mark Walling, his niece, Tanya Walling, and his nephew, Sean Waling.
