Ernest Harold Cruz passed away on September 14, 2021 in Dallas, Texas. He was born on September 4, 1932 in Ferris, Texas to Frank Cruz and wife Marybelle "Fulton" Cruz.
He joined the United States Army in 1953 and he served during the Korean War. After being discharged from the Army with Honors he started a new career working for the United States Post Office as a mail carrier and after retiring he enjoyed his beautiful garden.
Ernest met is loving wife and they were married in 1957 and they have been married for 64 years at the time of his passing.
He loved his wife and family but most of all he loved his Savior. He was baptized at the age of 6 years old after going to a service. He dedicated his whole life to the Lord. Ernest was re-baptized by Rev. Cruz.
He is preceded in death by his father S.F. Cruz, mother Marybelle Fulton Cruz, and brother James “Jimmy” Cruz and his wife Liane Cruz.
He is survived by his wife Wanda Cruz; daughter Rhonda Rink and husband Mark; grandchildren Marla Tenret and husband Pieter, and Brandon Rink; sister Mary Moore and husband Howard; brother Phillip Cruz and wife Carole; sister-in-laws Lois Darlene Fuentes, Lynne Fuentes and many nieces and nephews that will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be 2pm, Sunday, September 19, 2021 at New Hope Funeral Home, Sunnyvale, Texas.
Funeral service will follow and begin at 3pm at the funeral home.
Burial will be at a later date at Dallas-Ft Worth National Cemetery with Military Honors.
