Ernest Wayne Gilmore was born April 3, 1958 in Dallas, TX. He was reared by his mother, Patsy Ruth Thomas and stepfather, James V. Thomas, Sr. (both preceded him in death). Ernest accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. He began his Christian journey at the Church of the Living God, Pillar and Ground of the Truth, 1710 Bayside St. in West Dallas. Ernest was gifted with a melodious voice that he used to give glory to God.
Ernest currently attends Emmanuel Pentecostal Church under the leadership of Rev. Richard Flowers. Here, Ernest served as a greeter, which was the ideal ministry for him. He never met a stranger!
Ernest attended and was a proud graduate of L.G. Pinkston High School. He participated in many talent shows with a few of his best friends where they exhibited their singing abilities.
Ernest was previously employed by 7-11 Corporation and Hughes and Luce Law Firm where he served many years as a mail processing clerk.
Ernest was an avid sports fan, especially of the Dallas Cowboys. He was a man of God that loved his family and friends. He will be missed by all and remembered for his impeccable mode of dress, his genuine nature, and infectious laugh.
On Friday, July 10, 2020, Ernest’s Heavenly Father called him to his eternal home. As Ernest transitioned the song “I am” by gospel artist Jason Nelson was played.
